چکیده

Abstract The warming phenomenon is one of the most difficult challenges times. Agricultural waste decomposition contributes to global due increase in greenhouse gases. Carbon sequestering used reduce gases mitigate phenomenon. Applying biochar important tools for carbon soil hundreds thousands years. Paper aims produce olive stone (OSB) and apply it soils study its effect on properties status K (Quantity/Intensity K). Biochar was produced from at 650°C applied rates 0, 1, 2, 5% two investigated (sandy calcareous) effects growth wheat plants. Results analysis indicated that possesses several functional groups essential elements (N, P, K), a large surface area (394.25 m2 g-1), an average fine diameter (0.8 µm). application OSB improved properties, including water holding capacity, %porosity, bulk density, cation exchange availability some nutrients, especially potassium. Additionally, increased soluble-K ammonium acetate (NH4OAc-K) levels soils. potential buffering capacity (PBCK), activity ratio (ARK), labile (KL) were also enhanced. Moreover, plant’s height, root depth, dry matter, NPK content. Therefore, we concluded beneficial long-term improving fertility.

Sorption of Cu(II), Zn(II) and Ni(II) from aqueous solution using activated carbon prepared from olive stone waste

The performance of olive stone activated carbon (OSAC) for sorption of Cu2+, Zn2+ and Ni2+ ions was investigated via batch technique. OSAC materials were prepared under different physially activation conditions. Olive stone waste was physically activated with N2 gas and steam gas at 900oC at 3.5h hold time (OSAC-3) was choice as the best one for Cu2+, Zn2+ and Ni2+ removal. Characterization for...

Availability of triazine herbicides in aged soils amended with olive oil mill waste.

Amendments are frequently added to agricultural soils to increase organic matter content. In this study, we examined the influence of alperujo, an olive oil mill waste, on the availability of two triazine herbicides, terbuthylazine and atrazine, in two different sandy soils, one from Sevilla, Spain, and the other from Minnesota. The effect of aging on herbicide sorption and bioavailability was ...

Synthesis of Novel Magnetic Biochar Using Microwave Heating for Removal of Arsenic from Waste Water

Novel magnetic biochar has been successfully synthesized by using microwave technique, using discarded materials such as Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB). The optimized conditions for the best novel magnetic biochar synthesis are at 900 w reaction power, 20 min reaction time, and impregnation ratio 0.5 (biomas:FeCl3) The details physical and chemical analyses of novel magnetic biochar wer...

Enhancing methane production from food waste fermentate using biochar: the added value of electrochemical testing in pre-selecting the most effective type of biochar

Background Recent studies have suggested that addition of electrically conductive biochar particles is an effective strategy to improve the methanogenic conversion of waste organic substrates, by promoting syntrophic associations between acetogenic and methanogenic organisms based on interspecies electron transfer processes. However, the underlying fundamentals of the process are still largely ...
